Salary Range: $19-$22/hour based on experience and qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY
Community Treasures is a thrift shop owned by Galesburg Community Foundation. The Thrift Store manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations, including staff and volunteer supervision, customer and donor relations, oversight and cash handling procedures, product management, and policy enforcement. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, with occasional weekends required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
General Operations
Oversees all operations of the retail shop
Reconciles cash drawer at end of day, completes reports, and makes deposits; all bookkeeping functions will be responsibilities of GCF staff
Design and enforce policy necessary to operate shop in manner consistent with goals of Galesburg Community Foundation
Responsible for product management including, pricing inventory control, displays, and sales
Substitutes in all departments as needed
Other duties as assigned
Volunteer Management
Recruit, retain, train, schedule, supervise, and coordinate activities of all volunteers
Create/maintain accurate job descriptions for each volunteer position/department
Evaluate capacity of volunteers in current roles and dismiss volunteers as necessary
Plans volunteer meetings on regular basis
Substitutes in all departments as needed
Responsible for healthy culture of workforce
Communicate needs of volunteers to GCF when appropriate
Community and Donor Relations
Coordinates all marketing and advertising, public relations, and speaking engagements with GCF Communications Manager
Promotes connection of the shop to GCF goals, mission, and achievements
Build and maintain relationships with donors and volunteers

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associates degree or equivalent; or 1 – 3 years related business management experience. Experience or coursework specific to business administration, management, and retail is desirable. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team environment with frequent interruptions/ Must be proficient in Outlook Microsoft Word, Excel and POS system. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, including extended hours of standing, walking, and working on your feet. There is continual moving with significant lifting, bending, walking and moving furniture and items of all sizes.
